Descripción This study proposal aims to validate a research instrument in order to collect the necessary information to generate an institutional self-evaluation methodology of environmental management, taking into consideration those aspects related to the public higher education context of Panama. The instrument was submitted for consideration by experts in the field, applying the survey method, to give their opinion on the form and content of the instrument. From thisinformation, the instrument was validated and the reliability and understandability were also measured, calculating Cronbach's Alpha coefficient using the statistical program R, with which it was certified that the instrument can be applied as a methodology for institutional self-evaluation of environmental management, taking into account what is proposed by the GreenMétric University Ranking. For this, the instrument (poured into a Google Forms document) was applied to a population sample, composed of teachers (82) and students (200), who work or study at theRegional University Centers of Azuero, Coclé and Veraguas. The first version of the questionnaire is, built, with the six sections of the aforementioned Index (Environment and Infrastructure; Energyand Climate Change; Waste; Water; Transportation; Education and Research). Finally, the questionnaire, contains, nineteen (19) items constructed with a Likert scale. Thirty-three (33) dichotomous items, to be answered yes or no.
Descripción La presente propuesta de estudio tiene como objetivo validar un instrumento de investigación con el fin de recopilar la información necesaria para generar una metodología de autoevaluacióninstitucional de la gestión ambiental, tomando en consideración aquellos aspectos relacionados con el contexto educativo superior público de Panamá. El instrumento fue sometido a consideración por expertos en el área, aplicando el método de encuesta, para que opinaran sobre la forma y contenido del mismo. A partir de esta información se procedió a validar el instrumento y también se le midió la confiabilidad y entendenbilidad, calculando el coeficiente de Alfa de Cronbach utilizando el programa estadístico R, con elcual se certificó que el instrumento podrá ser aplicado como una metodología de autoevaluación institucional de la gestión ambiental, teniendo en cuenta lo propuesto por el GreenMétric University Ranking. Para esto se aplicó el instrumento (vertido en un documento de Google Forms), a una muestra poblacional, compuesta por docentes (82) y estudiantes (200), que laboran o estudian en los Centros Regionales Universitarios de Azuero, Coclé y Veraguas, en el segundo periodo académico de 2021. Laprimera versión del cuestionario está, construido, con las seis secciones del mencionado Índice (Entorno e Infraestructura; Energía y Cambio Climático; Residuos; Agua; Transporte; Educación e Investigación).Conclusiones: Finalmente, el cuestionario, contiene, diecinueve (19) ítems construidos con una escala tipo Likert. Treinta y tres (33) ítems de tipo dicotómico, para ser respondidos de forma Sí o No.
