Descripción Academic performance is the evaluation of the knowledge acquired in a superior environment. The objective of study of this article is the relationship of influence that exists between the academicperformance and the economic level of the students of the Industrial Engineering career of the University of Panama. The object of research will be the academic performance of universitystudents and the economic level factor that influence the academic result. For this, a survey of 6 questions was applied to 20 students of the Industrial Engineering career of the University of Panama.The study was carried out through an analytical, explanatory and descriptive method that is based on the analysis of the economic levels that exist in Panama and the factors that affect the academicperformance of university students, where it was concluded that the academic performance of University students at the University of Panama are affected by their economic level.
Descripción El rendimiento académico es la evaluación de los conocimientos adquiridos en un entorno superior. El objetivo de estudio del presente artículo es la relacion de influencia que existe entre elrendimiento académico y el nivel económico de los estudiantes de la carrera de Ingeniería Industrial de la Universidad de Panamá. El objeto de investigación será el rendimiento académico de losestudiantes universitarios y el factor de nivel económico que influyen en el resultado académico.Para esto se aplicó una encuesta de 6 preguntas a 20 estudiantes de la carrera de Ingeniería Industrial de la Universidad de Panamá.El estudio fue realizado a través de un método analítico, explicativo y descriptivo que se da en base al análisis de los niveles económicos que existen en Panamá y los factores que afectan el rendimiento académico de los estudiantes universitarios, donde se concluyó que el rendimiento académico de los estudiantes universitarios de la Universidad de Panamá se ve afectado por el nivel económico que posean.
