The problem raised in this proposal arises from the concern of the low performance that students have with respect to mathematics, as consequence of the use of traditional strategies, which lead to memorization in students. However, it must taken into account that not everyone has the same interests, motivations, aspirations and possibilities; including the personal conditions of the family environment, influence the results of the teaching-learning process. Methodological strategies are important in the teaching-learning process of mathematics, because they tend to be essential for the intellectual development of children, since it helps them to develop logical thinking.
The realization of this work is based on bibliographic research, using the survey technique in order to identify: What are the problematic difficulties that students present during the teaching-learning process of mathematics? What methods do teachers use to teach mathematics? The survey was aimed at 22 students in the ninth year of basic education from a fiscal educational institution in the city of Quito during the period 2020-2021
Descripción En los últimos años, el proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje en la asignatura de matemática, ha resultado compleja y tediosa. Por esta razón es indispensable utilizar estrategias metodológicas que ayuden a mejorar la capacidad del aprendizaje de los estudiantes. La asignatura de matemática tiene como finalidad fundamental el desarrollo de la capacidad crítica, lógica, analítica y reflexiva. Además, busca incrementar la facultad de razonamiento y abstracción para resolver problemas.
La problemática planteada, surge ante la preocupación del bajo rendimiento que los alumnos tienen respecto a la matemática, como consecuencia del uso de estrategias tradicionales, que conllevan a la memorización en los estudiantes. Sin embargo, se debe tener en cuenta que no todos tienen los mismos intereses, motivaciones, aspiraciones y posibilidades; inclusive las condiciones personales del ambiente familiar, influyen en los resultados del proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje. Las estrategias metodológicas son importantes dentro del proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje de las matemáticas, porque tienden a ser esenciales para el desarrollo intelectual de los niños, puesto que les ayuda a desarrollar el pensamiento lógico.
La realización de este trabajo parte de la investigación bibliográfica, utilizando la técnica de la encuesta con el objetivo de identificar ¿cuáles son las problemáticas dificultades que presentan los estudiantes durante el proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje de la matemática? La encuesta estuvo dirigida a 22 estudiantes del noveno año de educación básica de una institución educativa fiscal de la ciudad de Quito durante el periodo 2020-2021
