For a better understanding of the historical data of the Isthmian press, the School of Journalism of the Justo Arosemena Institute, which had its first graduation in 1956, divided its study by epochs. In this way, it places the newspapers already mentioned in the First Period and attributes to them clearly independent and patriotic tendencies. Para mejor comprensión de los datos históricos de la prensa istmeña, la Escuela de Periodismo del Instituto Justo Arosemena que tuvo su primera graduación en 1956, dividió su estudio por épocas. De este modo coloca los periódicos ya mencionados, en la Primera Época y les atribuye tendencias netamente independientes y patriotas. Segunda Época
Los investigadores de la materia ubican esta etapa en la década de 1830, hacia los medianos del Siglo XIX.
