Descripción The public and private universities have the challenge of complying with the demands and requirements raised by the university accreditation institutions. In this sense it cannot comply with the investigative mission, without understanding the way of construction of scientific knowledge; mainly of a necessary ordering, in terms of areas of knowledge and lines of research that makes necessary the contribution of these institutions in making decisions of governments. This article aims to raise some elements that are immersed in the dynamics of scientific production and recommending institutional adjustment actions that improve the quantity and quality of university research in Panama.
Descripción Las universidades públicas y particulares del país se encuentran con el desafío de cumplir con las exigencias y requisitos planteados por las instituciones de acreditación universitaria. En ese sentido, no se puede cumplir con esta misión investigativa, sin entender la forma y construcción del conocimiento científico; principalmente de un ordenamiento necesario, en términos de áreas de conocimiento y líneas de investigación que hace necesaria la contribución de estas instituciones en la toma de decisiones de los gobiernos. Este artículo pretende plantear algunos elementos que se encuentran inmersos en la dinámica de producción científica y recomendando acciones de ajuste institucional que mejore la cantidad y calidad de la investigación universitaria en Panamá.
