Descripción The socio-environmental impacts of the unplanned occupation of the territory, ignoring the nature of the place, have been proven and with the contemporary urges of climate change and the pandemic, rethinking the landscape of cities has become more necessary than ever. In this context, green infrastructure emerges as a tool that would allow sustainable landscape planning, that is, promote urban development in accordance with the support capacity of a place. In this article we will conceptualize green infrastructure and analyze how it was incorporated into the English context at different scales, from local to regional, based on the analysis of the “Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park” Project. As a result, it was observed that green infrastructure helps to promote the ecological and socio-cultural functions of the city landscape.
Descripción Los impactos socioambientales de la ocupación no planificada del territorio, desconociendo la naturaleza del lugar, han sido comprobados y con las urgencias contemporáneas del cambio climático y la pandemia, repensar el paisaje de las ciudades se ha vuelto más necesario que nunca. En este contexto, la infraestructura verde surge como una herramienta que permitiría una planificación sostenible del paisaje, es decir, promover un desarrollo urbano acorde con la capacidad de soporte de un lugar. En este artículo conceptualizaremos la infraestructura verde y analizaremos cómo se incorporó al contexto inglés a diferentes escalas, desde la local hasta la regional, a partir del análisis del proyecto del parque “Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park”. Como resultado, se observó que la infraestructura verde ayuda a promover las funciones ecológicas y socioculturales del paisaje de las ciudades.
