Descripción The hospital bed is one of the most important resources in the hospital system of any health institution. The pressure on the provision of beds affects the strategic planning and admission policy of the different hospitals, The objective of this work is to show the usefulness of linear programming to comparatively analyze productivity in the use and management of the bed resource of the national specialty hospitals of the Ministry of Health of Panama in the period 2019. A study will also be made on the different scientific texts that have spoken on the subject, compiling an approximate number of 10 scientific articles. The linear programming model is used to analyze the indicators of stay, occupancy, replacement interval and discharge per bed for one year in each of the national hospitals. The methodology used was the QM program for Windows with the Linear Programming model to maximize utilities based on the number of hospital beds. The result of the program indicates that the objective function of the model will be optimized by increasing the number of beds per day. Regarding bibliometric analysis, 40% of the researched articles that use linear and whole programming focus their results in the area of operations and health research. In conclusion, if the bed of discharge of patients in hospitals increases, the maximization of profits in hospitals would improve for the following years.
Descripción La cama hospitalaria es uno de los recursos más importante del sistema hospitalario de cualquier institución de salud. La presión sobre la provisión de camas afecta la planificación estratégica y la política de admisión de los diferentes hospitales, El objetivo de este trabajo es mostrar la utilidad de la programación lineal para analizar comparativamente la productividad en el uso y la gestión del recurso cama de los hospitales nacionales de especialidades del Ministerio de Salud de Panamá en el periodo 2019. También se realizará un estudio sobre los diferentes textos científicos que han hablado sobre el tema, recopilando una cantidad aproximada de 10 artículos científicos. Se utiliza el modelo de programación lineal para analizar los indicadores de estancia, ocupación, intervalo de sustitución y egresos por cama durante un año en cada uno de los hospitales nacionales. La metodología utilizada fue el programa QM para Windows con el modelo de Programación Lineal para maximizar las utilidades en base al número de camas hospitalarias. El resultado dado por el programa nos señala que la función objetivo del modelo se optimizará al aumentar la cantidad camas de egresados por día. En cuanto al análisis bibliométrico, el 40% de los artículos investigados que utilizan programación lineal y entera enfocan sus resultados en el área de investigación de operaciones y salud. En conclusión, si la cama de egresos de pacientes en los hospitales aumenta, la maximización de utilidades en los Hospitales mejoraría para los siguientes años posteriores.
