Descripción This research aims to analyze the difficulties students face for certification in the English language at the Regional University Center of San Miguelito. For this reason, the field investigation was carried out through a questionnaire of the graduates and an interview with the teachers of the English language subject of the center. The research results were evaluated through multivariate statistical techniques to experiment and appreciate the correlations from statistical data. Then, the results of the semi-directed interviews were interpreted and supported through case studies. The results revealed the fundamental cause that students face for the certification of the English language, which has the effect of limitations to pass the certification exam of basic command of the English language present in the three levels of academic training. At levels one and two, primary and secondary, respectively, students received a low
level of training, which could not be overcome at the last level, which is the university where this subject does not meet the training criteria because its curriculum is designed for the specialized teaching-learning process to contribute to strengthening professional alignment.
Descripción Esta investigación tiene como propósito analizar las dificultades que enfrentan los estudiantes para la certificación en idioma inglés en el Centro Regional Universitario de San Miguelito.  Por esta razón, la indagación de campo se realizó a través de la aplicación de un cuestionario a los egresados y una entrevista a los profesores de la asignatura del idioma inglés, del centro. Los resultados de la investigación se valoraron a través de técnicas estadísticas multivariante para experimentar y apreciar las correlaciones a partir de datos estadísticos. Luego, se interpretaron y se apoyaron con los resultados de las entrevistas semidirigidas por medio de estudio de casos. Los resultados, revelaron la causa fundamental que enfrentan los estudiantes para la certificación del idioma inglés, el cual tiene como efecto limitaciones para aprobar el examen de certificación de dominio básico del idioma inglés, presentes en los tres niveles de formación académica. En los niveles uno y dos; primaria y secundaria respectivamente, recibieron una formación baja, la cual no se pudo superar en el último nivel, que es la universidad donde dicha asignatura no responde a los criterios formativos, porque su currículo está diseñado al proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje especializado para contribuir a la fortalecer la alineación profesional.
