Descripción The writing makes a historical and situational tour of the educational reality in Panama, with reference to the training of the Panamanian teacher; on the occasion of the recent proposal for the creation of the Juan Demóstenes Arosemena Pedagogical University, at the initiative of the Legislative Branch.A historical tour is carried out, from before the beginning of the republic in 1903, mentioning that there were already teacher training institutions in the Panamanian territory, preceding the creation of the Juan Demóstenes Arosemena Normal School and other normal schools later.In the transit of the Normal School of Santiago it has been transformed intermittently, with the intention of adapting to the requirements of the time and national and international agreements in the field of teacher training. That as of 1996, the Juan Demóstenes Normal School stopped graduating Primary School Teachers and since 1999, began its ascent to the top of signing an agreement with the University of Panama and the recognition of studies carried out in what is now the Juan D. .Arosemena.Among the final considerations, the implication and possible effects that the creation of a University of Pedagogical Sciences would have and some inaccuracies that are commented in the exercise of this action by the Legislative Oregano are left.
Descripción El escrito realiza un recorrido histórico y situacional de la realidad educativa en Panamá, con referencia a la formación del docente panameño; en ocasión de la reciente propuesta de creación de la Universidad Pedagógica Juan Demóstenes Arosemena, por iniciativa del Órgano Legislativo.Se realiza un recorrido histórico, desde antes de los inicios de la república en el año 1903, haciendo mención de que ya existían instituciones de formación docente en el territorio panameño antecediendo la creación de la Escuela Normal Juan Demóstenes Arosemena y otras escuelas normales con posterioridad.En el tránsito de la Escuela Normal de Santiago se ha transformado con intermitencia, con la intención de adaptarse a los requerimientos de la época y convenios nacionales e internacionales en materia de formación docente. Que a partir de 1996, la Escuela Normal Juan Demóstenes dejó de graduar Maestros de Primera Enseñanza y desde 1999, comenzó su ascenso hasta la cúspide de firmar convenio con la Universidad de Panamá y el reconocimiento de estudios realizados en el hoy Instituto Pedagógico Superior Juan D. Arosemena.Entre las consideraciones finales se deja sentado la implicación y posibles efectos que tendría la creación de una Universidad de Ciencias Pedagógicas y de algunas inexactitudes que se comenten en el ejercicio de esta acción por parte del Orégano Legislativo.
