Descripción Noise pollution is an issue that has become relevant over the years because it’s increasing significantly along with overpopulation in cities around the world. This environmental factor, despite being invisible, is highly detrimental to people exposed to high levels of noise daily. This study seeks to analyze the noise levels that occur in three (3) sectors of the Paitilla area: (1) Parque Paitilla, (2) Plaza Bal Harbor, and (3) Parada Paitilla. Measurements are used with a sound level meter, which measures the levels of a sector, in this case, at a specific time of three (3) hours. The results show that of the 3 sectors evaluated, the sector with the highest noise pollution is S3_Parada Paitilla, where the levels ranged from 70 to 85 decibels, with an average of 77 decibels. S1_Parque Paitilla and S2_Plaza Bal Harbor presented lower noise levels, averaging 67 and 74 respectively.
Descripción La contaminación acústica es un tema que se ha vuelto relevante al pasar de los años, debido a que esta va en un notable incremento que se presenta a la par de la sobrepoblación en las ciudades del mundo entero. Este factor contaminante, a pesar de ser invisible, es altamente perjudicial para las personas que día a día están expuestas a altos niveles de ruido. Mediante este estudio se busca analizar los niveles de ruido que se presentan en tres (3) sectores del área de Paitilla: (1) Parque Paitilla, (2) Plaza Bal Harbour y (3) Parada Paitilla. Se emplean mediciones con un sonómetro, el cual mide los niveles de un sector, en este caso, en un horario determinado de tres (3) horas. Los resultados arrojan que, de los 3 sectores evaluados, el sector con mayor contaminación acústica es el S3_Parada Paitilla, donde los niveles oscilaron entre 70 a 85 decibeles, teniendo un promedio de 77 decibeles. El S1_Parque Paitilla y S2_Plaza Bal Harbour, presentaron niveles de ruido más bajos, con un promedio de 67 y 74 respectivamente.
