Descripción This is a review of the sociolinguistics state of the indigenous languages of Panama. It aims to outlines the dangers, sufferings, histories, strengths, hopes, possibilities they have to emerge, efforts made for their non- extinction and possible ways forward. More attention is paid to the language I know well: ngäbere and I mention the other panamanian indigenous languages.
Descripción Este artículo pretende ser una revisión del estado sociolingüístico en que se encuentran los idiomas indígenas de Panamá. Se intenta esbozar los peligros, sufrimientos, historias, fortalezas, esperanzas, posibilidades que tienen de surgir, esfuerzos hechos para su no extinción y posibles caminos hacia adelante. Pongo más atención en el idioma que conozco bastante: el ngäbere y menciono los otros idiomas indígenas panameños.
