Since then, the subject has gained special importance and, in the last decades, providing a definition of corporate social responsibility that satisfies all stakeholders is a very difficult assignment, because it involves a variety of aspects that pertain to both internal and corporate contexts. external to the organization. To better understand where this corporate consciousness comes from, the aim of the article is to examine the evolution of the term from its formal beginnings in 1953 to the present day. The documentary study was in the constructivist paradigm, since it assumed complex historical facts, renouncing the absolute, recognizing that the prevailing dynamic is that of change; This representation is only possible within a qualitative process, since this type of research is based more on logic and the inductive process. It is briefly exposed since its emergence in 1953, in a longitudinal trend study that shows its evolution and, subsequently, deepens through the point of view of various authors and institutions that have emerged up to the year 2019.
Descripción Howard Bowen es considerado el padre de la responsabilidad social empresarial, debido a que la publicación en 1953 de su obra Social Responsabilities of the Businessmen inició una nueva era en la que se debatiría entre los círculos académicos sobre este postulado y las obligaciones que los empresarios deberían asumir ante la sociedad. Según Bowen, las empresas constituyen fuerzas poderosas y sus acciones influyen en la vida de la sociedad. Desde entonces el tema ha cobrado especial importancia y, en las últimas décadas, proporcionar una definición de responsabilidad social empresarial que satisfaga a todos los interesados resulta una asignación muy difícil, debido a que involucra una variedad de aspectos que pertenecen tanto a los contextos internos como externos de la organización. Para comprender mejor de dónde procede esta conciencia corporativa, el objetivo del artículo es examinar la evolución del término desde sus inicios formales en 1953 hasta la actualidad. El estudio documental se situó en el paradigma constructivista, ya que asumió hechos históricos complejos renunciando a lo absoluto, al reconocer que la dinámica imperante es la del cambio; esta representación solo es posible dentro de un proceso cualitativo, ya que este tipo de investigaciones se basan más en la lógica y el proceso inductivo. Se expone brevemente desde su surgimiento en 1953, en un estudio longitudinal de tendencia que muestra su evolución y, posteriormente, profundiza a través del punto de vista de diversos autores e instituciones que han surgido hasta el año 2019.
