Descripción Entrepreneurship is essential to provide opportunities for a better quality of societies.  Incubators have the role to enhance their generation, expansion, or acceleration capacities. In Ecuador, this is a topic still to develop, with a total of 26 accredited incubators registered and distributed in six provinces with direct influence of Higher Education Institutions. This study aims to determine the characteristics of accredited Ecuadorian incubators, identifying the type of incubators and their influence on the expansion of ventures in their provinces of origin. The research used quantitative and qualitative data. The quantitative information responds to 26 accredited incubators and 9,933 incidents that originated during the fourth quarter of 2021 until the second quarter of 2023.  The quantitative information was analyzed through the Shapiro test -Wilk, while qualitative data mainly refers to services offered by incubators. The results show that Ecuadorian incubators positively influence the generation of entrepreneurship, with a moderate correlation between these variables. Regarding the type of incubators, it is possible to identify that in Ecuador, there are two types of incubators, the first and second generation; most of these incubators offer counseling and advisory services, while only three of them provide initial capital to entrepreneurs. These aspects show that they partially affect the generation of entrepreneurship in their respective provinces.
Descripción El emprendimiento es indispensable para brindar oportunidades de un mejor nivel de vida para las sociedades y dado que las incubadoras tienen la función de potencializarlos a fin de lograr su generación, expansión o aceleración. En Ecuador, este es un tema todavía nuevo aún y existen un total de 26 incubadoras acreditadas y distribuidas en 6 provincias con directa injerencia de las Instituciones de Educación Superior (IES). Esta investigación tiene como propósito determinar las características de las incubadoras ecuatorianas acreditadas, identificando el tipo de incubadoras y su influencia en la expansión de emprendimientos en sus provincias de origen. La investigación utilizó datos cuantitativos y cualitativos, la información cuantitativa responde a un total de 26 incubadoras acreditadas y 9933 emprendimientos originados durante el cuarto trimestre del año 2021 hasta el segundo trimestre del año 2023.  La información cuantitativa fue analizada a través de la prueba de Shapiro-Wilk, mientras que los datos cualitativos hacen referencia a servicios que ofrecen las incubadoras, principalmente. Los resultados muestran que las incubadoras ecuatorianas ejercen una influencia positiva en la generación de emprendimientos, existiendo una correlación moderada entre estas variables, respecto al tipo de incubadoras es posible identificar que en Ecuador existen dos tipos de incubadoras, las de primera y segunda generación, la mayoría de estas incubadoras ofrecen servicios de consejería y asesoría, mientras que sólo tres ofrecen capital semilla a los emprendedores.  Estos aspectos muestran que tienen un efecto parcial en la generación de emprendimientos en sus provincias respectivas.
