Descripción This article shows preliminary results of doctoral research whose objective is to analyze self-education as an educational and territorial process of the Nasa ethnic group, in the El Mesón Indigenous Educational Institution (INEIM) of the Honduras reservation, Municipality of Morales, Cauca, Colombia, this study It is theoretically based on the concepts of intercultural-own education, territory, territoriality and follows a non-experimental qualitative research methodology. The instruments applied were the semi-structured interview, participant observation, documentary review, discussion groups (conversations, the palabreo and the minga of thought) which are their own ways that the indigenous people use to transmit knowledge from the oral tradition. Among the results, it was found that one's own education is ancient and is oriented from the Law of origin of each ethnic group, from the family and community in harmony with Mother Earth, the cosmos and the spirituality necessary to exist with identity, contemplated as the main axis the passage of time that per se guarantees education for life, relating to nature, other ethnic groups, society in general and is materialized from wisdom and knowledge in an experiential way to live well, with a very important role in the construction of territoriality and the development of communities, finally it is a political dimension that has the capacity to construct educational processes and proposals with critical foundations regarding the education that indigenous people in Colombia need.
Descripción Este artículo muestra resultados preliminares de investigación doctoral cuyo objetivo es analizar la educación propia como proceso educativo y territorial de la etnia Nasa, en la Institución Educativa Indígena el Mesón (INEIM) del resguardo de Honduras, Municipio de Morales, Cauca, Colombia, este estudio se fundamenta teóricamente en los conceptos de educación intercultural-propia, territorio, territorialidad y sigue una metodología de investigación cualitativa de tipo no experimental, los instrumentos aplicados fueron la entrevista semiestructurada, la observación participante, la revisión documental, los grupos de discusión (conversatorios, el palabreo y la minga de pensamiento) que son maneras propias que los indígenas utilizan para transmitir conocimiento desde la tradición oral. Entre los resultados se encontró que la educación propia es milenaria está orientada desde la Ley de origen de cada etnia, desde el seno familiar y comunitario en armonización con la Madre Tierra, el cosmos y la espiritualidad necesarios para existir con identidad, contempla como eje principal el andar del tiempo que per se garantiza educación para la vida, relacionándose con la naturaleza, otras etnias, la sociedad en general y se materializa desde la sabiduría y conocimiento de forma vivencial para vivir bien, con un papel muy importante en la construcción de la territorialidad y el desarrollo de las comunidades, finalmente es una dimensión política que tiene la capacidad de construir con fundamento crítico procesos y propuestas educativas frente a la educación que necesitan los indígenas en Colombia.
